I hope so too! These are just cover in blooms this morning! All things considered, these are going to be way earlier than the rest of the peas. It may explain how the fellow in South Texas was able to get 3 crops of these in a single year.
Its also making me wonder if it isn’t the same variety that’s blooming out in the “puny pea plant patch” I set up. I guess we’ll see.

Wait, you’re telling us that your plants are covered in blooms, and you’re not showing us a picture? It’s not that I don’t believe you, it’s just that I want to see it. I’ll enjoy gardening vicariously that way.
I like that name “Puny Pea Plant Patch.” I think it needs capital letters to be an official title now.

I definitely dropped the ball. I’ll see what it looks like tomorrow. It’s been a dreary day today. Rain Rain and more rain. I’m not complaining though.

Here we go. Not as many blooms today, but a few more peas. Took a couple pictures for ya.

Thanks for the pictures, hmoosek. Those are looking great. I enjoy the twin blooms and pods on cowpeas; they’re so pretty.

The wife says there are 14 peas in that container. It won’t be long till the Moose will be in his counting house counting out his peas. Hahahaaaaa!

14 pea pods at the time of the picture, right? Not fourteen pea plants in that one container, I hope. (I first read it as the latter but decided you meant pods. Did I decide right?)

Oh yes, I meant pods. There’s only 4 plants. Wife has tried counting again and said she got three different counts, but thinks it’s around 26 pods.

Ok here’s something to make y’all laugh. Does anyone else count the pods and say “ok, if each pod has 10 peas, then I’ll have 260 cowpea seeds.” Of course all this is done rubbing my hands together. Ha Ha ha!

Ha Ha ha! In a normal gardening year, no I would not. But the way this year has been, I would if I had 2 pea pods...

I’m pretty sure I remember doing that with my Rattlesnake Pole Beans last summer.
I did have my daughter actually count the seeds that we extracted from our first luffa (more than 150). We didn’t count on the second.

Looking good. (And, yes, I counted the beans in the pod on the right.)
