Mint can be very gratifying on account of its rapid growth and hardiness, not to mention all the ways one can use it!

Tucson,
Kudos to you on the mint. I love growing spearmint. We used to dry several gallon jars of it to last all winter to make mint tea, but lately, grasshoppers have murdered every bit of it.

I got my recent start, from a purchase at our .99 cent store. It only looked nice like that, before our summer heat took its toll. It is, however, working at making a comeback. Our peak daily high's, though still 100F or a little more, are rarely staying that high, for more than an hour each day. If I water at the right time, I can mitigate the heat pretty well.
The ground cherries, which had also expired from the excessive heat, have sprouted from seeds the fire ants overlooked, and they are coming on strong, with blooming, already.
