Got some seed of this from Baker Creek; Pink Dandelion - Taraxacum pseudoroseum, a species from central Asia. I just planted a 6-pack and have 3 small ones, coming right along.

heavyhitterokra, I entirely agree with your opinion of this dandelion variety. I only wish I'd known about it sooner. I'm sure I would have been including them in my garden.

Okay, my 3 pink dandelion plants are now outside, sharing one seven gallon pot.

Update: And now they are crowding the surface of the 7 gallon pot, with many flower buds forming on each. I also notice that there is much red pigment on the leaf veins.

Now, the two larger of the three plants are each sporting pretty pink and yellow flowers - I had never even considered there were other colors and species of dandelion, wow.

I can hardly wait for these to set seed. I want to grow more, so I can give them as gifts. Such an amazing look for dandelions. When I've spent my whole life just looking at plain yellow ones.

Late this morning, my 3 pink dandelion plants had a second pair of flowers open. They must provide exceptional honeybee forage, since a bee was busy working those two flowers. I guarantee there are no other dandelions for hundreds of miles, of not farther.

I just made note, that the two flowers to bloom first are getting ready to release their seed. The stalks have rapidly grown much longer and are standing straight up. In the morning I plan to bag them. I hope I'm not too late.

I arrived early enough to notice that all the seed, on the two expectant seed pods had turned dark (usually indicating the seed is ripe). So, I first trimmed off most of the top wind motivating fluff, then snipped those two pods. I layed them aside, in the shade, to dry. I almost forgot about them, but once it started being windy, I remembered and rescued them after only a few seed had been blown away.
I now have my own Pink Dandelion seed. I just need to plant a few, grow them to blooming, then I'll know if I truly have, "true seed". I'm fairly confident that I do.

I have been harvesting these seed, as soon as the seed turns dark (usually indicating that it is ripe). The wind snatched one away from me. While yesterday morning a bird ate all the seed, except one, from that days seed harvest.
