Apparently I will soon be growing, Solanum pimpinellifolium, a kissing-cousin, close, tomato relative. It was included as a bonus seed pack with one of my Baker Creek seed orders. I wonder how it will do here in Tucson, AZ.

Should be quite resilient. Just keep in mind that they are extremely promiscuous, crossing very easily with all other tomatoes.

In that case I should probably isolate it from any open pollinated heirloom varieties I'm planning to harvest seed from. I hope the other end of my property is enough. I wonder, if I isolated it with a fine mesh net, would it be able to set seed/fruit by self-fertilization.
