My Purple Hull peas are starting to change color. I love the purple. It makes them so easy to see. These were planted 7-24 directly in the untilled soil of my former Navajo Robin's Egg corn. I chopped the corn stalks for mulch and stuck the peas it. They want to run and would probably appreciate something to climb on--but doing fine running on the ground.

That's beautiful, June! Remember that planting date, that's good information to have for all the years to come.

Heavyhitterokra, I am really lazy when it comes to record keeping. Fortunately, I like to take pictures of EVERYTHING...and my pictures are automatically dated...that's my record-keeping. That and my excellent memory of what I liked or didn't like....and all the mistakes I've made.

I planted Penny Rile on July 20, where we harvested potatoes. Don't have photos at this point but I'd say this variety is about at the point that your purple hulled peas are at.
