Weekly update Aug 8th. Soon, very soon, I’ve got to find another spot to put these. I’ve moved all but 3 varieties off the porch, so I have made some progress.

Plants are lookin good HMK. Keep an eye on those leafminers. Don't want them to get out of control.

Yeah I noticed that. The MN150 are setting right beside them with no marks. Strange.

I haven't really heard of an effective treatment to be honest. They're tough to treat because they live inside the leaf, between the leaf layers. I haven't had a bad infestation of them, just an occasional appearance. I just pluck the leaf and put it in the trash.

Well no wonder I can’t find any bugs! Inside the leaf, huh. Well….Let me get out the wife hair scissors and get to work. Haha!

Thanks, rdback. I was hoping you had some sort of great way to deal with them. The best I’ve read is to try to squish them while they’re inside the leaf, but I think removing the entire leaf sounds better as long as it’s not too much of the plant. I haven’t done either, though, so I guess that means I have larvae in my soil now. Actually they’ve probably already pupated, it’s been so long since I saw those first trails. The good news is that this is in a garden bed behind my house, and I’m not seeing them on the new beans leaves that are growing now in the garden.

First saved pea seed of the season. These are MN13, BUT these came from the puny pea patch that has several varieties, so I won’t label them as MN13. I’m not sure how I will label these yet. They could be pure, but might also be crossed. Either way, it’s happy pea day.

Wow. Those puny peas are really something. That seems fast to have dried down already. Congratulations!

Grasshoppers showed up and found my flower pot of peas. Oddly enough they don’t seem to be bothering the puny pea patch. Anyways, I wanted to save seeds from the flower pot, so I yanked them up and put them away to dry. From the looks of things, I’ll have well over 100 peas to save for this variety. I’m happy with that, Especially for growing in a flower pot.
Once I get them dried and shelled, I’ll post a picture of the seeds.

I've seen this happen before, I can help with that hmoosek, Label them: ntbnebeadkwktar (Not Tiny But Not Extra Big Either And Don't Know What Kind They Are Really)
But seriously, Good Show! Happy that your Seed Saving Plans have been successful!
