A seed swapping friend of mine sent me a package of tomatoes labeled Ruby Pearl. I grew them and I still have a few original seeds. I found an old pic of Ruby Pearl. In my grow out of Ruby Pearl, I saved seeds. I found those seeds I had saved and grew them out a few years back. I got this strange looking little tomato that looks like a miniature version of Costoluto Genoese which I grow quite often. I assume this tomato crossed in my garden because Ruby Pearl is not supposed to look like this. At least the one I grew before didn’t. Anyways, I keep growing this one because it’s so tiny and cute! I call it Mary’s Treat.

So Mary's treat has bred true from year to year? That's great!

So Mary's treat has bred true from year to year? That's great! George, I saved a bunch of seeds from that first plant. So technically I guess I’m still growing F1. I guess I need to save seeds from these and see what I get. OR I had a stray seed of something else in my bag of Ruby Pearl. I’m not sure.
