Thought I'd start a thread for garden quotes. They can be funny, garden advice or else bits of wisdom that overflow into all of life. Over the years I've seen some great ones. Here's one I ran across yesterday. It's by George Washington Carver, who in my opinion, is one of the most under rated American heroes of all time.
"When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world."
I suspect that he had read (many times over) Proverbs 22:29:
“Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”

"The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do."
(Galileo Galilei, Italian astronomer (born 2/15/1564))
And there is one who upholds the sun, still having time for us!
“To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,” Psalm 19:1-4
