Great report! It's amazing what can be accomplished over the decades through something as simple as seed selection.

Had a few spots to fill, so decided to see if some 6yo seed would germinate. After being in a damp paper towel for 2.5 days the germination rate is at ~42%. Believe this seed is from the year right after I crossed my previous hybrid with Silver Queen and that was an interesting generation. Look forward to seeing it again.

Believe this seed is from the year right after I crossed my previous hybrid with Silver Queen and that was an interesting generation. Look forward to seeing it again. Of the seeds I sowed two weeks ago, only three emerged and their vigor is noticeably less than I would expect from younger seed. What I have seen before with older seed is that they will germinate, begin to sprout and then run out of fuel before they can develop good true leaves and fully switch over to soil and light energy.
