I got a good chuckle this morning! I'll not say what state reported this because it was probably 'big' to them and I wouldn't want to take that away from them, but it cracked me up when I read the particulars and picked up on the urgency of their story.
The Title read: "Tornadoes, Destructive Wind, Very Large Hail Destroys Entire Area"
The article went on to read that there was a tornado reported that was on the ground for 1.6 miles with a maximum width of 150 yards with sustained winds of 95 mph. Then it went on to describe the damage and the debris field in great detail.
In Oklahoma, that probably wouldn't have even been reported. I think most folks around here would just call that a "Windy day" or maybe a "Downburst". I know things like that happen. I once had 114 tomato cages, cables, rebars, fence posts and all sucked up and tossed into the neighbor's cow pasture. We lost several trees, and a few sheets of tin. My neighbor lost a carport and part of a porch, but we didn't call the papers to inform anyone. It just wasn't far enough out of the ordinary for that. I'm not even sure that was a tornado? We just called it a high wind for insurance purposes.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't mean to offend anyone, but that article did put a smile on my face when I read it.

I just wanted to report that between Wednesday night and this morning, we got 1.5 inches of rain. We’re a bit northwest of San Antonio, and this rain was coming from the Gulf of Mexico, so we really got the outer bands rather than the really heavy downpours that were to the southeast. Nevertheless, it was a really good rain in that it was not so heavy that it ran off, and it came over a period of time. The sun came out this morning, and everything just looked so refreshed. It was beautiful.

Outside, here, at 11:30 am it is 102°F. It isn't expected to peak, until 3:00 pm - I wonder how warm it will be, then.

And at 3:30 pm, 109°F. It'll probably start cooling off, now. Unfortunately tomorrow's high is forecast to be about 3-5°F warmer than today.
Since I've been too slow at setting up my drip circuits, I keep having to run out and water. I'm using makeshift garden hoses of 1/2" black polyethylene drip line, I need to run the water for a few minutes, first, or I might just cook my plants instead of cooling and watering them.

I feel ya. I’ve been watering every day now. I watered everything deeply this morning knowing full well we have a 50% chance of rain tonight. Anything that isn’t close to flooding just isn’t worth considering at this point though I’m grateful for whatever comes.
It’s not raining much now, but it is storming with thunder and lightening and i just love it. Plants will jump an inch or so.

Tucson Grower,
This is for you, it's a video taken in the Mammoth Lakes area about two weeks ago, after their record snowfall. Maybe, it will at least give you a mental break from the heat you've been experiencing there.

McManus, Oklahoma state climatologist, is warning of overnight lows on Friday and potential freezing on Saturday and Sunday.
I was jusss about to plant out my pepper plants given the overcast skies, but I decided to check the forecast. I keep picking blossoms off as I scold them. Ha

Glad you checked the forecast before planting, @frosty Turnip. I like to plant on overcast days, too. When is your average last frost? (I’m sure I’ve asked before; it just doesn’t stick.)

Our average frost dates over here about 120 miles East of Frosty Turnip are listed as April 11th, and October 25th, but those are only suggestions, as Mother Nature does whatever she pleases. In the last decade alone, We've had frosts as late as May 16th and as early as October 8th.
Our forecast earlier in the week was calling for a low of 28° this coming Saturday night, now they have changed that to a low of 40°. With guesses as wildly differentiated as that, I'd appreciate it if they'd stop making guesses.
I guess we'll all just have to wait and see what happens.

Glad you checked the forecast before planting, @frosty Turnip. I like to plant on overcast days, too. When is your average last frost? (I’m sure I’ve asked before; it just doesn’t stick.) Is okay. My brain is slippery too. Third week of April is avg last though they claim it is for more southern portions of Oklahoma, that’s my experience here but central a little further North of the boys. After the third week of April, we can have a couple of overnight freezes, but it normally is sufficient to plant corn and okra on the 1st week of may.

We’re wet. I don’t believe it. So helpful! It had gotten to the point with me staring down at the garden bed with a hose in one hand thinking, I cannot water all this. Resistance is futile.
Now I can water. Isn’t this crazy? It’s odd to think this way. Ya’ll probably have experienced this, but it’s still new to me.
Today, I get to scythe. Slices like butter when it’s wet and that’s mulch for the beds. Need to hop to it. Prayers for all those with Nader damage.

Woo-Hoo! Thank you, God, for answered prayers!
Frosty, when I saw that storm move over Cushing last night, I was sure hoping it would drop you guys some much-needed rain. It sounds like our prayers were answered. I'm so happy for you all! Kind of makes me wanna dance a little jig!
