Yes, the peas are doing great. Several pods are shaping up nicely, they might, beat the heat.
This coming Tuesday, could be a bother, it is forecast to dip to 36F. If those forecasts were mostly accurate, it likely wouldn't be a problem. But, everything growing outsde already, saw 36F, without too much issue, but that was when it was forecast to be in the mid 40'sF. I think I'll bring in for the night, everything, not already planted in the ground, hopefully this will be it for this wild season. It is probably due to global warming. Our rain and cold/warm pattern seems to be going off the rails.

Better safe than sorry. The amount of damage is determined by the variety, of course, but also by how many hours the freeze sets in.
On another site, Amy mentioned using a crock pot full of water inside a small covering, like a makeshift green house. I haven’t gotten to it, but promised to build and monitor. I may not get to it until next winter.
It wouldn’t take a whole lot to keep some of these morning freezes from impacting the semi-tender varieties. 5 degrees would make all the difference in the world and it would save my back.

It's 53°F outside right now, a few minutes before 9:00am. The forecast high for today is 61°F. The forcast low, tonight is 35°F. Our forecast here generally swings widely, usually a larger discrepancy when forecasting the high, and not as large a discrepancy when forecasting the low. For example a few days ago the daily high was forecast to be 81°F, while the actual high for that day was 95°F (a difference of 14 degrees). But on another recent day the forecast high was supposed to be 61°F, yet the actual high for that day was 67°F (a difference of only 6 degrees). Concerning our forecast lows, it is a slightly different story; often we get 30'sF when the forecast is for mid-40'sF. This coming Monday, 10 April 2023 is forecast to be 96°F, so I'm anticipating we may get 100°F or better. So right after ostensibly our coldest April day, in memory (at least). Records show, 27°F on 4 April 1945 (the last time it froze, here in April), 11 years before I was born.

Forecast doesn't expect it to freeze by around 5-8 this morning, but it's expected to come close. I took enough heat mats, earlier late yesterday afternoon to take care of the three 1020 seedling flats that are out there. I just checked at 1 am, ambient temp 35F, the flats were at 70F. Where possible, sensitive plants, in pots or the ground are covered with inverted 1 gallon nursery cans/pots.

We’re having some roaring winds right now, and there have been some rumbles of thunder. The radar map shows that the edge of something might go over us in the next little bit before it breaks up and moves on. So far there hasn’t been rain, but I’m sure hoping and praying for some.
The local weather forecast says that we have better shots of rain tomorrow and Friday. They say that some places could see an inch or more. I sure hope so for lots of places around here.

35F, here, now. Tonight's low forecast 48F, forecasts going forward 50F or higher. I sure hope that's correct; I lost a few more seedlings I wasn't expecting to, the night before. Even though the heat mat's kept the media at or above 70F, it wasn't enough to protect the above ground parts of some plants.

I’m sorry to hear about the seedlings, @tucson Grower.
Surprisingly, we’re at 44 degrees right now. We had storms move in overnight. Yesterday’s rain in the morning missed us completely, but we got a productive thunderstorm in the middle of the night, and it looks like bands of rain from the Gulf of Mexico will possibly be hitting us today and tomorrow. It’s very exciting. The local news said that they expect this to be the healthiest rain to hit our area since October of 2021. Hurray!

51°F, right now at 2:30 am; expected low, 49°F at 5:00 am. Foreseable forecasts are all with lows above 49°F. Monday, forecast is for 98°F (I'm gonna guess it will exceed 100°F that day).
I'm restarting lots of seedlings; this time I can do it outside - where the mice never seem interested in my garden plants. I'll still use the heat mat, to speed things up, but I can use the sun. I can't use a humidity dome (that just makes them, solar ovens), main drawback is it's best to use undrained flats and water, water, water.
A new mystery is that I planted colonies of 5 different sunflower varieties (at least 10 seed of each variety), I have only one germinated seedling in each of 3 of the 5. I suppose I'll need to pre-germinate in napkin and bag to help fill-out those colonies. BTW they germinated quite a while ago, cold spells don't seem to bother them nor the peanut, soybean or barley plants. Pre-germinated 'Sea Island Red' (SIR) okra don't seem to complete their germination, in the ground, as well as 'Heavy Hitter' (HH) okra does. It's now at least a week beyond the time it took all of the 29 HH seedling to complete emergence, and not a single SIR seedling has even swan-necked, yet. Maybe they're even more sensitve to the cold (as far as germination goes), than even HH is.
