I'm visiting my daughter in Alaska for a few days. Today's high was 24 F and low was -4. There are mountains of snow everywhere.
This afternoon she took me to see her favorite grocery store. It's an international place with specialty foods from and for all over the world. I thought I'd post this photo. Okra at nearly $10 a pound!

I watched a show awhile back about a guy that had started growing vegetables underground in Alaska. He was doing really well selling to the stores up there.

Bet he would do well. Sure wish we had a store like this in Tahlequah. They sold special food items for all kinds of ethnic groups. I picked up two more sweet potatoes, just to try. Japanese Satsumai and Japanese purple (white skin).

Ironically, that okra in Alaska doesn't look as rough as the stuff they try to peddle at Walmart in Tahlequah. We sure missed you in Church today. Jerreth did a good job with Sunday School. Enjoy your vacation. Stay away from the Moose Nuggets!
