Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I want to take a minute to remind everyone that our next local meeting will be at Napolis Italian Restaurant (901 S. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah, Oklahoma) from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.) At this next meeting I hope to bring some seed samples of a large selection of Seminole Pumpkin (extremely hardy, prolific and long keeping), African/Heavy Hitter Cross Okra (has no irritating hairs on pods or leaves) and Roselle (also known as Florida Cranberry or in Spanish: Jamaica - pronounced Hah-my-kah. You can read about it on our website).
Here's the text to the announcement, which I sent to the Tahlequah Daily Press yesterday.

Do you enjoy growing your own food? Ever frustrated because the varieties you get from the usual sources just struggle to survive and produce here? Would you like to grow some things which are adapted for our local conditions and do much better? Or would you like to learn tips and tricks from local growers, which will help you have success? Come on out to the local meeting of Green Country Seed Savers. Green Country Seed Savers is a group of gardeners interested in saving and spreading seed of diverse and locally adapted food plants. Our meetings are informal, yet, there is always something new and interesting to discuss.
Our next meeting is planned for December 4, 2016. It will be at Napolis Italian Restaurant (901 S. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah, Oklahoma) from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. We will plan on gathering in their meeting room. Among other items, we will discuss recent experimentation with African okra and Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (a.k.a. Roselle or Florida Cranberry). For a preview, check our our website at seedsavingnetwork.proboards.com/ .
