Hey folks,
I’ve scheduled another meeting of Green Country Seed Savers for July 24 (Sunday afternoon) at 2:00-4:00 PM. We’ll meet at Napolis Italian Restaurant (901 S. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah, Oklahoma). Gardens are in full swing now. Hopefully you are getting a good harvest. There is still time to plant for a fall crop (certain things). We can discuss this option. Bring your ideas about what to plant in July and August. Also, for anyone who has not learned to extract and process tomato seed, I will bring the stuff with me to demonstrate. We have already harvested our first dry bean seed. We can discuss how to process legume seed, so that it lasts a long time and has good germination. If you have any other topics which you would like to discuss, do please let me know. It’s fine to come out and bring things up in the course of conversation, but if we know in advance, we can tell others, and interested parties may come out.

George,
I've got some better than average heirloom yellow pear tomatoes this year. They are larger than I've had in years past.
If I can remember to bring a few with me to the meeting, would that be a good thing to process seeds from to pass around to the folks at the meeting? I may have a German Johnson Pink by then too? I just threw one over the fence today, because it was wormy, so it got ripe ahead of schedule. There is another one on the vine that looks like it might be a ripe in a few days.
I used to grow a medley of small tomatoes for a mixed basket of color for salads. I would mix Juliet, with yellow Pear, and sprinkle in a few sweet 100s, some one inch cherry tomatoes, and a few Sun Golds. People would grab those up at the Farmers'Market as fast as I could set them out.
You might have to remind me to bring them, or even remind me to show up... My memory ain't what it used to be.
(It never was much to begin with).

Remind you?! That's like asking the blind to lead the blind! But I'll try. Yes I think those would be great for a seed saving demonstration!
