What beans are everyone growing this year?
My list...
AERON PURPLE STAR a stringless purple podded runner from Wales, delicious
AUNT MARY'S MEAT (P) growing for the first time
BARKSDALE (P) my must every year
BARRY ISLAND (P) another new one from Wales
BIRD EGG#3 (P) plan on eating these instead of saving for seed
BLUE SHACKAMAXON (P) growing for seed
BRIDGEWATER (P) if I can find a spot, got this one late
CANDY (B) growing for seed
CHEROKEE TRAIL OF TEARS (P) the white seeded variety found in a UK garden, just as nice tasting as the black seeded
LAZY WIFE (P) the original one, second year growing, this year we can eat some
MENNONITE PURPLE STRIPE (P) growing for the first time
RED EYE FALL MUTATION? OR CROSS (P) one pod found with solid colored seed last year
SICITALIAN BLACK SWAMP (P) growing for the first time
STEEVES' CASEKNIFE (P) growing for the first time
TANYA'S PINK POD (B) growing for seed
WITSA(P) growing for seed
Not growing as many this year as I want to grow some other things, yacon, crosne, and oca. sea kale, skirret and rattail radish, second year at growing these. Also I'm trying cantaloupe and watermelon, if we have a summer like last year I just might success. Cucs, lettuce and beets are in and growing. I have a rhubarb and raspberry patch and a few heirloom strawberries (British Sovereign). My female Actinidia kolomikta vine has been producing grape sized fruit the last couple of years. I've grown the male version for a number of years for the colorful foliage so thought why not the female and get some fruit. Fitting everything in a small garden is challenging .
