Friday, March 25 at 4:30 PM Green Country Seed Savers will meet at the home of Glen and Dorothy Bowen. This is near Stilwell, Oklahoma. We will plan to be headed home by the time it gets dark. Glen and Dorothy have a very beautiful garden as well as a greenhouse, which they built. They grow most of what they eat. The only discouraging thing I've found, about visiting their place, is that their garden makes mine look like a weed patch!
We will most certainly get a tour of the greenhouse and garden. I plan on bringing a few extra tomato plants along, for those who might want them, Surely others will bring extra seeds or plants as well.
If anyone would like to caravan over there it might be possible to use this website to start a thread and coordinate.
Message me if you need directions. I promise to check my messages every day until our meeting!

Just thought I'd update you all on the last meeting. It went pretty well. As I expected, Glen and Dorothy's garden and greenhouse were beautiful. I forgot to count, but I would guess we had around 14 people who attended. Some brought seedlings to give away. There were a good many tomato plants as well as broccoli, peas (yes, peas in little pots) and now... I forget what else. But there was a table of plants. The Bowens offered Jerusalem artichokes to anyone would might want them. We had a number of new people come out. Our time of discussion was, as always, varied and interesting; dealing with such wide ranging topics as recipes, dairy, insect issues in the garden (and remedies for them) and resistant varieties to grow.
David and Linda Hickey brought a number of good tomato seedlings, including one which, until this year, has only been available from one single source. Sand Mueller brought some herbs. The date for next month's meeting should be announced soon. We'll do tomato cages again.
