Friday, October 9 at 7 PM Green Country Seed Savers will meet for its first “Seedy Campfire.” We will be meeting at Ron Cook's place (Ron is the originator of Heavy Hitter Okra and a key member of our group.) We won't plan on a meal. But if anyone would like to bring fixings for toasted marshmallows or smores, that would be fine. We can plan on discussion about the 2015 gardening season. Let's hear about what did good for you and, of course ... what didn't. Some members will bring extra seeds from this year's harvest. Green Country Seed Savers' mission is to contribute gardening knowledge, knowledge about varieties especially suited to regional conditions and knowledge about propagation of crops. We seek to help others learn to complete the full circle of food production through the production and preservation of seed. If interested contact Ron at 918-207-0091 or George at 918-457-8284.
Ron's little campground does not come equipped with a lot of seats. So bring your own lawn chair. If anyone doesn't, then they can go to the wood pile and “pull up a log.”

Directions to Ron's place Heading North on 82, from Tahlequah, turn right on 82 A. This is shortly after passing the Lawnmower Shop on the right. Follow 82A a couple of miles. You will come to a rather steep winding hill. This is called Moodys Hill. Start measuring miles from the top of this hill. 82A will twist and turn for 2.9 miles before you come to 670 Road. Before coming to 670 Road you will pass the gas station and Moodys Store.
Turn left on 670 Road (dirt road) one mile North of Moodys Store/gas station on hwy 82a, then turn West (left) on 670 dirt road, continue West for 4/10 of a mile, then turn South (left) on Farm Lane... Ron lives at the end of Farm Lane, in a brick house, there is a yellow summer kitchen in his yard.
Bring your own lawn chair or preferred seat. Anyone who doesn't is welcome to grab a log from the wood pile and use that.

Well, I didn't count. But I believe we had around 10 or 11 people at Ron's last night. Some were brand new. It was a very good time. If we do a campfire again, though, I'll try to do a better calculation on sundown, as it would have been a bit better to start an our earlier. Ron, you are a fabulous host!
