When do you plant these types of beans?

I would think that one plants them most any time. But now would be great, at least here, in our climate. As I understand, fall beans are beans which really don't produce much until the fall. My Barksdale Wax Pole is probably a fall bean. I've planted it in April and, it would produce something (not much) in the summer. But come the cool nights of fall, and... kaboom! It sets LOTS of pods.

Jeff, you are blessed, in some ways, to be in Kentucky. You're in the same state as one of the "bean greats," Bill Best and his companions. Here's a web address for
Sustainable Mountain Agriculture, their organization.
I bet they not only have different kinds of fall beans. But they also would have great cultural info on them.

Just a warning. "New" has an uncanny attraction to the new seed saver. If you already have a fall bean, be careful not to lose it, in pursuit of something new and different.
