woodeye made me a very nice carving board a few months back. I don’t think I ever had a chance to show it off. We are slowly working on finishing our cabin. The wife and I just completed the pantry. We wanted butcher block, but have you seen the prices? Well, we decided to do our on thing. I used two layers of osb and covered with tongue and groove pine, then put on 5 coats of poly. The cutting board looks great on my makeshift butcher block. We wanted a 50/60’s vibe. Remember the dining room tables with the chrome trim. They reproduce it these days and charge a premium, so again, old cheapskate me used a substitute. It’s metal flooring trim. By the way, they don’t give that trim away either, but at least, it was only about 50 dollars for what we needed and gave me a look similar to what we wanted. I see many pie crusts being rolled out and many loaves of bread being made at this counter.
