I wonder if a second-hand shop like 'The Restore' might have old window screens that a person could put side by side to be fastened together with florist wire? In winter, they could be stored flat in a single stack, then reassembled in Spring. Just a thought.
I've built a lot of things from hardware cloth that I buy by the roll at Atwood's. They are quite cost-prohibitive at the hardware stores, but Atwoods carries them at a cheaper price, plus Lowes has a price match guarantee and will beat a competitor's price, so they can be double discounted. Make sure you don't use plastic window screens like the ones on my house. Hoppers chew right through those.

Perhaps one or several, screened cold-frames?
