Let's plan on meeting at Napolis Italian Restaurant, Sunday July 13. If we come up with another venue, we might change location.

Yesterday, June 23, is the day I have down on my calendar, as the halfway point of the growing season. There is still time to plant beans, sweet potatoes and okra. I planted some acorn squash and cantaloupe yesterday.

I'll try to come, but no promises right now.

Sorry Gary, 2:00 PM. I had written the announcement before, at the end of a lunch break, and it was swallowed by cyberspace. So I re-wrote it in haste.

Tomorrow I plan on bringing some sweet potato slips to give away. I have planted sweet potatoes as late as July 18 and gotten a decent harvest. If you plant this time of year, just be sure to keep them watered, so they don't stall out during the hot and dry time of the summer.
I also plan on bringing some top set garlic to give away.

Yesterday's gathering went well! I forgot to count, but I suspect we had about 14 people. I came prepared to share more, but then, so did a bunch of you folks! It was glorious! This is the kind of community that I've been longing to see!
We're starting to see "regulars," so it's like a reunion. Yet each time, we have new people, which is great too. The dynamic of sharing is fantastic, both in the area of plant materials and also in regard to knowledge.
