This is something I came up with at the beginning of summer, we've been calling it a chabbit tractor (CHicken + RABBIT). Housed on top are 2 rabbits & underneath are 6 Bantam chickens. Joel Salatin does something similar but his is a static arrangement, they call it the Racken pen. Anyway thought it may be of interest.

I've heard nothing but good about Joel Salatin. My question is whether the bunnies might not get too hot when in direct sun?

I'm able to keep it oriented E-W where the roof overhangs for the most part. I do have an extra 6' piece of tin that I prop up to make sure they stay shaded. I've been stewing on adding outdoor bamboo blinds to the long sides, just haven't found one that I can repurpose yet. We lost one rabbit a week ago due to the heat, it was in the pens at the house, there's a noticeable temperature difference between our house that's up on the hill and down by the river, I think it's partly due to the asphalt driveway along with the shade not being as deep there.

I'm sorry I'm still learning how to navigate the forum. Bon it is kind of heavy, that's something I would like to change in the next version I build. The drop down axles help but it could be much lighter. I have a Suscovich style tractor that I keep ducks in, my plan is to build and divide one in half. The front half containing the ducks, a couple rabbits over the back half with a few chickens. The Suscovich tractor is very light. Like alot of people I have more plans/ideas than I have time/money LOL.
