Hey folks,
Blake, aka Buffaloberry, gardens in Chicago. You'll remember his interest in Cherokee and Native American varieties from the northern Indiana/Illinois area. The other day he emailed me some beautiful photos of his garden. I thought I'd post them here. It's always nice to see success, especially when one has shared seeds and they take root somewhere new!
The squash are Old Timey Cornfield Pumpkins. Nice to see them growing next to the corn, eh?!
I believe he said that the corn is purple flour corn.
This bean is called Price's Cherokee Bean. I have not heard of this variety before now.
Sunchokes
Finally Cherokee Moon & Stars Watermelon. Looks great!
Wish my garden looked this nice, this summer! Congratulations, Buffaloberry!

Moon and Stars is one of my favorite watermelons. It has a wonderful texture that reminds me of what melons back in the '60s tasted like (before the commercial growers fertilized and watered them until they had no flavor).
