Today is planting day.
Tomatoes
This year, I’m concentrating on growing Porter. This was my first tomato. I was able to obtain seeds from Victory this year. I sure wish I’d known about saving seeds back in the 4th grade, I could have had some real heritage seeds.
My wife couldn’t/Wouldn’t/Didn’t believe I was only planting one type of tomato. I think she is still bumfuzzled!
I noticed they put a pkg of super thrive in my Jiffy Greenhouse this year. I also noticed they raised the price if them by a tad bit over 3 bucks!
I’ll be back to tell y’all what all gets planted, but Shishito peppers is right here on my desk!

Well, things never go as planned. I just finished planting a couple minutes ago. I was very careful not to let my fingers plant more than I can manage.
6 jiffy pellets Broccoli Raab
5 pellets/10 seeds Roselle
4 Shishito pepper
3 Porter Tomato
2 Poblano peppers

Congratulations on finishing, and perhaps even bigger congratulations are in order for showing such restraint! It all sounds good.

I never tested it before sending it and didn’t ever plant any last year, so I hadn’t been sure. Thanks for letting me know. I may plant it again in my cinderblock planter in the corner of the backyard that gets so much afternoon sun. It can take the heat well, and it was very pretty out the window.

That’s wonderful, hmoosek. I’m so glad to hear it. When is your average last frost up there?

That’s wonderful, hmoosek . I’m so glad to hear it. When is your average last frost up there? I think it’s around the middle of March, but we usually get a cold snap around easter. For my tomatoes, I set them out middle of March and protect them during the frosts. I remember sitting in a cafe in April watching the snow fall on the blue bonnets.

Well it just ain’t working rdbackso far, neither of the peppers have come up and the Porter Tomatoes haven’t either. I’m getting a bit concerned. They have had plenty of time. Not worried about the shishito because you sent me some seeds for those, but the ones I planted are new seeds. It could have been me, so can’t rule that out. I do want my porter tomato dadgumitt. The Roselle are ready to transplant into larger containers.
