I’m really not what you’d call a hiker. I’m more of what I’d call a Woodsman. Meaning, I love to get out and explore, but I don’t usually walk around with a tortoise shell tied to my back. Today, I decided to load up a pack with alcohol and esbit stoves, plus more junk than I needed. Not a lot of weight really, just cumbersome. Normally, I steap a knife on my belt and I’m ready.
Today was a beautiful day. About 75 and partly cloudy. The wind was pretty stiff though and I decided it was too risky to play with my stoves. I covered a lot of territory. My legs are like rubber and my feet are burning a little.
It was peaceful & quiet and just what I’ve been needing.
I’m getting ready to add several pictures, so pkease check back in a few minutes.

This is a small spring fed lake that was once the heart of a small town. The community is long gone now, but this lake sees lots of anglers visit especially when trout are stocked in the Winter. Been camping here for a very long time. I remember coming here in the early 70’s.

Man alive, if this tree could talk, I bet it could tell you a lot of stories. This thing is big!

Beautiful! Over the last two weeks I've spent a lot of time in the woods. The purpose was to find, cut up and bring home dead wood for firewood. But I spend a lot of time enjoying the scenery too.

Well, that was a nice walk hmoosek ! Brings back memories of springtime crappie fishing. I spent many a day chasing those tasty devils. Out on the water all day, then a campfire and fish fry that night. Spent most of our time on either Tawokoni or Fork. And if we weren't chasing crappie, we'd go after bass. Good times.
