I have these things growing rampant around the farm. I remember the very day I first saw one and paid attention to it. It was back around 2008ish. I was sitting way up high on my farmall without a care and n the world. I was pulling a disk behind me and chopping the weeds and turning the soil. It was the first time this land had been plowed in decades. I saw a patch of neon purple flowers just glowing. They were so very pretty that I shut the tractor down and went to take a look. Now days, every time I see these I’m reminded of that day.

I had those spring up in a pot earlier this spring, and now I’m seeing them in other places. I think it’s a wild petunia. Aren’t they lovely?

That was a beautiful photo Hmoosek.
I have those little purple flowers here periodically. I call them, "wild Petunias" because that's what they look like to me. So far, all the wild ones have been purple. I've not seen variations in color. They are not predictable so far, as to where they'll come up next time or what years I might see them, that just makes them more special to me when I do occasionally spot one of them.
