Now most of my garden turned out to be refuse. Only about 5 seeds germinated out of 11 - 40 foot rows of beans, peas and lima beans. But peppers I have!! Spend hours chopping up the peppers I had to pick to ease the plants a bit as they were so loaded. Final count was 22 cups of chopped peppers. That is a lot of peppers!! But we use a lot of peppers. Some were mixed with chopped onions and some with onions and mushrooms. All nicely bagged up and frozen for this winter! /happy dance

True story here. My big brother lives across the road from me. He also uses tons of chopped peppers and onions. So one year I picked a bunch of peppers, placed them in a plastic grocery bag and gave them to him. A while later he was complaining that he couldn't find any of the bags of frozen chopped peppers in the grocery store. I asked him if he had ran out of what I had given him. He flipped out on how horrible my peppers were. Once you unfroze them, they were all mushy and gross. Yep fool tossed the whole grocery bag in the freezer and expected them to thaw out like fresh peppers. Now most of the time (not really) I can control my mouth but I have no control over my facial expression. Yeah he was pissed for days at me. But like DUH. Now I just give him zip lock bags of peppers and onions chopped.

I would so love that to be true but this is the same fool that rotated my tires for me but didn't snug down the lug nuts. Shall I describe the thrill of nipping down the road at 70MPH surrounded by semis as the loose nuts cause the studs to break off >,< One star. Very bad. Do not recommend. Had to remind him that he IS NOT in my will.

What peppers are you growing spike ? And if I've already asked you that, just act like I'm HMK and give me a whack lol. Aji Dulce, Jimmy Nardella, California Wonder, Cubanelle, Orange Sun, Franks, Elephant Ears, Glow, Blot, Aura, Ajvarski abd finally Bull Nose.
Almost all my seeds germinated except for the Ajvarsk, only one of those grew. I have over 40 pepper plants out there going insane!

So I wandered off to check on my peppers, that I just picked yesterday, to find they are close to overcrowding yet again! My Aji Dulce don't even have blossoms yet and the Jimmy Nardellas are just getting started.
This all makes me happy. I still need a few to stuff and freeze etc and I think my bro is good also. So that means that I get to take a bunch to my 92 year old aunt that lives one house away. Then my neighbor/friend across the street does the same thing I do with peppers. When she has enough she takes the extras to work and gives them away. I love being able to share fresh garden veggies with people.

(Ask me how I know that).
I had runaway peppers like that one year and had vehicle trouble along the same time. I took it to the shop, only to find out there was a 3 day wait just to get in. After a few minutes with the guy who actually did the work there, and a few words about my garden, I traded him 50 pounds of peppers to get my vehicle moved to the front of the line.
He got me fixed up and I returned a few hours later with enough paper grocery bags full of peppers to fill the entire front seat and floorboard of his truck. We were both happy after that, but I'll bet the person at the cash register wondered what just happened.

Decided to take a swing at habaneros this year. They are just now ripening.

Those are superb! I love habaneros. The Murupi Amarela/ Ají Yellow #2 that I grow has about the same flavor. Wonderful for hot sauce and for cooking!

I had an ol’ 63 3/4 ton Chevy pickup 283 4speed with grandma. Pull anything you hooked it to. I was trucking’ down the road in high gear one night. It stated making one heck of a racket in the front end, started smoking on the passenger side. Pulled over to check it out, but couldn’t get the darn lugs off. I was only a couple miles from home, so I eased it on in. The next day, took a blow torch and an impact wrench to finally get that wheel off. The ball bearing race track had welded itself to the spindle. Talk about a pain. It took hours of shoe shine motion with Emory Cloth, but I finally got smooth as butter.
No peppers were harmed to create this post.
What does that story have to do with peppers? Not a thing. I just felt like yaking I guess.
