I’ve had a weed growing in an unused pot on my back deck. I haven’t been watering the pot, but I did fill the olla some time ago to test its integrity (I’ve been making repairs to some cracks from freezing). This weed popped up a while back, and I like to let things grow to identify them, if possible. This morning it flowered. I took a picture and rain it through a free image identifier, and what seemed like the most likely match came back as “Wild Petunia.” www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=ruhuI’m not sure how I would come to have it in an empty pot where I grew ginger last year. I haven’t come across anything that makes me think it’s a bad idea to let it grow there. Anybody have any input?

Interesting question.
We have what we call, "Wild Petunias" here too. I don't know if they really are or not, but that's what we call them. It seems they are always purple, never any other colors. They are smaller in stature than store-bought petunias and always amaze me with how resilient they are.
I'd say that one is a keeper.
