They remind me of bonsai trees.

Well I transferred them to a bigger home. There’s also a lone cowpea in there. Hahaha! I was beat and just wanted a break. On a positive note, they rooted out beautifully!

Looking good, HMooseK. You are going to have a busy fall taking care of all those containers.

Weekly picture update. I gave them 4 drops of thrive when I watered them last night. They aren’t growing, they are just sitting there. The calico cowpea is growing though.

I bet they’re just concentrating their energy on establishing a good root system right now.

chrysanthemum heavyhitterokraThat does make sense. I usually start from seeds, but when I saw those two little nubs down low on the plant, a light bulb went off. I’ve heard of people taking rootings of tomatoes, but I had not tried it myself. I was in the mood to experiment I guess.

Shadow Boxing Tomato Ive never in my life kept a tomato this long. At least not that I can remember. I had this tomato on a shelf, so I could save seeds. Well, I forgot all about it. It’s been on my shelf since early July. Do tomatoes usually keep this long? I would have figured it would rot way before now.

That probably means that this variety has long keeping genes. I used to grow Sunray VF, which is a really nice orange/yellow slicing tomato. Loved the sweet flavor and great texture but also discovered that it had long keeping genes and it would stand on the counter for weeks. That's probably what's going on with Shadow Boxing.
