I planted Pigott Family Heirloom in with my Glass Gem corn this year. That have complicated one another. I haven’t given the corn any fertilizer. I studied on it some, there were a few of us here talking about, so I just let it go to see what it would do. I only have 3 good stalks with 6 peas growing in sort of a triangle.

How did that work out? If I recall correctly Glass Gem is not a very tall plant.

macmexThe peas did great. The corn made it to a little over 3’ tall. I made 2 baby ears of corn on one stalk. The stalks started dying, so I yanked them up. In all fairness, I didn’t fertilize or do anything for them except water occasionally.

Considering how few plants you had that looks like they did amazingly well, pollination wise.

I planted Spangler on my corn. My stalks were great but pollination was poor. The heat And drought were too much for the beans to share with corn even with wider than normal spacing but most of them did come up to about 6 inches.
I m encouraged to try Spangler again in this fashion.
