Hey folks,
I actually got a piece done for the local newspaper, announcing this upcoming meeting, over a week ago. Then.., I forgot to send out an email and let you all know!
The meeting will be this coming Sunday afternoon (February 13) at 2:00 pm at St. Basil's Episcopal Church (814 N. Vinita Ave.
Tahlequah OK 74464).
Below is a copy of what I sent to the Tahlequah Daily Press.

February in Cherokee County can be really cold and a person may wonder when warm weather is ever going to arrive, yet February and March are when most gardeners start tomatoes from seed.
It’s not hard to start tomatoes from seed. One just needs a pot or tray, some good potting soil, warmth and a sunny window or grow light. A single packet of seed can produce more plants than most gardeners might use in a season. It’s way less expensive to start from seed plus, starting from seed gives a gardener access to perhaps a hundred times more variety in varieties than if they were to buy plants.
Green Country Seed Savers is a group of gardeners who love to help others succeed in growing food crops in Cherokee County’s unique growing conditions. Many of us save seed and have also experimented with what grows (and produces best) right here! Our next meeting will be held Sunday, February 13 at 2:00 pm at St. Basil’s Episcopal Church (814 N. Vinita Ave. Tahlequah OK 74464).
Of course our meetings are rather informal and we may not spend the whole time discussing tomatoes. We love other crops as well. Come on out and join the fun. It’s even likely that there will be some seeds to share.
