hmoosek, those Red Ripper Peas and Big Boy Peas both look fantastic! Way to go! I know you said earlier that you didn’t want to start individual threads because you had so many, but in my opinion, I think you should. It would be easier for people to find information if they were just browsing in the legume sub forum, for example, than buried here in a long and rambling thread. I love having it here, too, but I’m just think that breaking it out will make it easier for someone to stumble upon it in the future, and sometimes stumbling upon a mention of a new variety is just how people get interested in it.

Will update on my Purple Hull Brown Crowders planted directly through the chopped corn stalks...they're coming right along, too, wanting to run and wanting to start blooming. No rain here since early June--rain just to the north of me, rain to the south of me--why doesn't it rain HERE! Maybe this little bit of rain suppose to be coming this weekend will find me.

june I'm sorry to hear that you have not gotten any rain for so long. I'll do a rain dance for you, hoping that I can dance up a storm for your garden. By the way, your peas look great!
Mid September is coming up soon. Oh, hope your shoulder is doing better by now...

June, be looking for heavy rain, Teddy is quite a dancer! He about got us washed away a few weeks ago, but we loved every minute of it! Those peas look really good. That's quite an accomplishment in a drought year like this has been.

hahaha, yes june & heavyhitterokra, please remain calm throughout the deluge. Oh, don't forget to batten down the hatches first though, then remain calm if possible.
Rain Dance activation was engaged approximately 1 hour ago, so look out!

june, woodeye, heavyhitterokra, this last exchange just made me laugh out loud with delight. I had to show my husband the thread starting with June’s beautiful peas in the chopped cornstalks all the way down through the rain dances culminating in the beautiful sight of the water pouring off the roof and those grateful plants soaking it up. I’m sure they appreciate the cooler temperatures, too. I hope you’ll get more, too.

june. Yay! I'm thrilled that you got some rain! Yes, the series of rain dances performed earlier in the afternoon are valid until 12:00am CST. So keep those hatches battened and continue to look out for flash floods, I really danced a jig when I did the rain dance, so there's no telling what may happen...

I’ve got Peas! What kind I don’t know. This is the patch where I took all the puny ones from every variety and just set them all together. I didn’t even think they would live they looked so bad, but as soon as I set them out, they recovered. Yea!!!!!

This tomato just keeps churning out tomatoes. It was not marked when I planted it. It’s a named variety I’m sure, but me and the wife lost track and it didn’t have a name on the cup.
