The pods on this plant are different from the others. Can see the Silver Queen ancestry peeking through. I like it.

Culled a few plants today. š
Some were already displaying "nope" characteristics, and I need the space for the rest to spread out.

Iām curious: what were the ā ānopeā characteristicsā for which you culled? Two were developing moderately well vegetation-wise, but their first two pods withered (AKA aborted). I've seen this before, usually when conditions aren't ideal, but if they are losing pods while the others are producing very well then they are out.

Mine abort pods sometimes for the first 5 blossoms. Usually, this happens during rainy weather. I don't know what causes it but I suspect it's a lack of pollination?

I've read that cool and/or wet weather can render their pollen inviable. I observed this myself when I accidentally planted too early the first year I lived in Arkansas. It was still a bit cool and rained a lot, and while the plants faired reasonably well, they aborted pods until it warmed and dried up up a bit.
