Beauty is in the eye of the chili holder. Tastiness counts way, way more.
Those are some fine looking birds in your previous post.

We raise pure Buckeyes, a very good multipurpose breed of chicken. We've had this strain since 2011. Can't think of a better bird for our needs, though it is amazing how minute differences in environment can make a big difference in how well a given breed does for a person.

When I saw the picture of your Buckeyes I figured they were part Rhode Island Red because of the rich red color. I researched to find out that they are a cross of Cochin, Plymouth Rock, and Malay. None of those breeds would have ever been one of my guesses, especially the Malay. While I was researching the Buckeyes I saw that Rhode Island Reds also have Malay, along with Brown Leghorn in their mix. I love the dark red color feathers on the Buckeyes and Rhode Island Reds.

Well, here it is, April 17, and I still have a wintermelon in good shape.
Of course, over the course of the winter I had a number of them go bad. So, it's not a sure thing that a given fruit will last this long. I need to plant more, though. This is a new veggie in our pantry, a good one.
