Today is February 16th, 2021. It's 4:35 am and is 15 below zero right now. According to The National Weather Service, it has been -15 degrees since 3:55 am. However, the coldest temperatures typically occur in the moments just before sunrise. So, 4:35 am is a little too early in the day for that to occur.
The last time it was this cold was back in February of 2011 when is was also 15 below zero here. During that time, we also got 20" inches of snow accumulation over a 10 day period. Let's hope that is not the case this go 'round.

I had a hypothermic milk goat this morning. Been so busy with her I still have to get to the sheep and rabbits.

I can certainly relate to that. I found a newborn calf one time that began freezing before the mama cold finish licking it off. I had a gunny sack on the steel seat of the tractor, that I was using as sort of a seat cushion; so I took that off and dried the calf as best I could, then carried the the poor thing inside the house to place it in the bathtub ... after-birth, bloody mess and all.
By that time, the calf was nearly lifeless and bits of dead grass, dead leaves, and pebbles were stuck all over it like sprinkles on an ice cream sundae.
After a few minutes of vigorous massaging in the bathtub, while pouring buckets of warm water over its body, it slowly came back to life. It eventually stood up under its own power again and was returned to its mama, but that was nearly an all day project, just for one calf, while I still had lots of chores to be done. Things like that really add to your daily routine.
We named that calf, "Miracle." She lived to be a yearling, then was struck and killed by lightning; which I suppose was a small miracle in of itself, but it sure was a disappointing end to such a tough beginning.

It was 3-degrees outside this morning when I got up to do chores. I've lost count of how many days it has been since the temperature was above freezing.
While I was out there, I took a few photos of the ice hanging from our eaves. It has been a beautiful day!
Get a load of that wonderful, deep blue sky! Things like this are probably not good for the facia boards, but they are just too pretty to break off. This sure was a cool sight to see while standing at the kitchen sink today, washing dishes.
