Here’s some pictures from seed that was planted July 2nd, 2020. We have had the most rain that I have ever seen in my life this year! Summertime usually ends up in drought here in the foothills of Alexander County, North Carolina. I hope to harvest some of these Tuesday or Thursday of thus week - September 1st or 3rd. Well, I was planning to add pictures but I didn’t see anywhere to attach them.

Eric,
Here's a link to a thread I just started on how to insert graphics. Hopefully, with this, you can quickly achieve success!

Hi Folks. Sorry it took so long to get back to the pictures. I was attempting to upload with my iPhone. Evidently, when you use the reply button in the upper right hand corner, it doesn't show the add attachments function. Nevermind, I am now on my laptop . One thing to mention that will become obvious, the Mexican Bean Beetles have nearly wrecked the entire bean patch project . Live and Learn. Now, I have to figure out what to do to deter them for next year. I'm trying diatomaceous earth for the meanwhile and rest of the season. I may have to go Sevin just to ensure that we get some seed for the future . This is not my first weapon of choice, though. All feedback welcome, please.

I grew up spraying for Mexican bean beetles every week to ten days. They devastated our beans almost every year. Now I'm convinced that spraying caused the problem to be much greater, as it killed the beneficials which would have controlled them. Insecticides Favor Pests. I would consider checking Arbico Organics for some biological control. Perhaps spined soldier bugs or wheel bugs would do the job. I've also gone through entire plantings on a daily basis, smashing the little yellow egg clusters on the bottom of the leaves as well as the larva. My fingers would be yellow in no time!
Those are some GREAT looking beans!

Hello Eric and Welcome to GCSS.
Well, you have MBB and Bon has Stink Bugs. I have BOTH, lol.
Neither have been very bad the last 3 or 4 years, but this year they have returned with a vengeance. I tried spraying neem oil a couple times earlier this year. It slowed them down for a few days, but it seems they re-doubled their efforts. I now just do the old fashioned control like George - squish 'em and leave them right there on the plant. Hopefully it will discourage others and they'll go elsewhere. Footnote: So far the old fashioned control only results in yellow-stained fingers, but you've released some frustration and you feel better!
I've heard for years about Doyce Chambers but still have yet to grow it. The list is long.
That pile of beans sure does look good. Maybe next year, lol.
