I don't believe any of our regulars would fall for this, but I'll post the link anyway, as those new to gardening tend to be susceptible to this kind of thing. A survival seed vault is supposed to be kind of a kit, containing all the seeds one would need, in case society has a huge crisis, things break down, and they find that they need to grow their own food. Advertisements of this kind of seed vaults tend to play to folk's fears, and to ignorance, as this is probably the least efficient or trustworthy manner to purchase seed. The article I link to discusses the reasons not to purchase one fo these products.
There's nothing the matter with keeping extra seed on hand, in order to be prepared, either to use it or share with others in need. I, however, would recommend that the one who would be prepared needs to BE GROWING their garden all along. The selection of seed they maintain will probably be smaller, but of much higher quality; and... they can use their hard earned cash for something else.
Survival Seed Vaults are a Waste of Money
